Local Mitigation Planning

The purpose of mitigation planning is to identify the natural hazards impacting our County as well as to identify actions and activities to reduce any losses from these hazards. Advanced planning allows us to establish a coordinated process to implement a final plan, taking advantage of a wide range of resources. This document details the continual work of the Suwannee County Local Mitigation Strategy (LMS) Working Group over the past several years to develop the comprehensive planning process and an analysis on the risks posed.

We invite you to take a look at this plan and provide input. Because the digital file is so large, we’re asking interested parties to visit the Suwannee County EOC to review the plan document. You may contact Sharon Hingson at [email protected] with any suggestions or questions.
