Suwannee County Board of Commissioners is seeking applicants for
PERMIT TECHNICIAN

This fulltime secretarial and clerical position performs administrative and technical work in the building department; processes applications for building, and related permits; schedules and records building inspections; interacts with developers, contractors and public on related permitting and building issues. Processes applications for contractor registration, Issues power release to power companies, prepares various reports in accordance with Suwannee County codes and ordinances.

Minimum qualifications includes graduation from a standard high school or GED, with course work in general office practices, typing, business math, and related subjects. Two full years of full-time general administrative experience, preferable construction related. The ability to type and use a computer. Permit Technician Certificationi from the Internation Code Council is highly preferred. Applicants must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License and have excellent people skills. Minimum salary is $16.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience, plus a generous benefits package.
