Staff Assistant – Building Department

This is a responsible fulltime secretarial and clerical support position. An employee in a position allocated to this class performs a variety of office support functions to a major department or unit. Functions are generally diversified and require judgments to apply broader aspects of established practices and procedures. Minimum qualifications include graduation from a standard high school and three years of experience in secretarial or advanced clerical office work or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Position requires some knowledge of building codes and related information. Applicants must also possess a valid Florida Driver’s License and have excellent people skills. Rate of pay is $10.00-$21.61, depending on qualifications and experience, plus a generous benefits package.
