This full-time position is semi-skilled work in the operation of heavy, construction, or truck vehicles. At a minimum, this position requires operation of a dump truck. Recreation Supervisor – Parks & Rec Dept (FT)

This is a fulltime administrative and professional position that works under limited supervision with the Parks & Recreation Department. An employee in a position allocated to this class will plan, coordinate, conduct, evaluate, and supervise recreational and seasonal programs to include youth and adult sports leagues, special events, concessions, summer day camp and aquatics. Coordinates, supervises, and evaluates part time and seasonal staff as well as volunteer coaches and officials. Performs routine office duties as required.

Requires a bachelor’s degree in Recreation or a related field. A minimum of three years’ experience in the recreation field or an equivalent combination of training and experience may be substituted. Requires general knowledge and the ability to operate computers and software applications. Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license. Must obtain and maintain Certified Youth Sports Administration (CYSA) certification within one year of hire. Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) certification preferred. Salary range is $14.42 – $24.52 per hour based on qualifications and experience plus a generous benefits package.

LIBRARY EXTENSION SERVICES MANAGER

This fulltime administrative position with the Suwannee River Regional Library System, Live Oak, FL, reports directly to the Library Director and is a member of the library management team. Knowledge of computer library system applications, materials selection, acquisition and maintenance, and experience in personnel management and supervision is required. The applicant must have proven experience with commercial computer software applications, record-keeping and reports, and extensive knowledge of the internet. The position requires analytical skills, judgment in researching problems to determine appropriate solutions, and a thorough knowledge and understanding of public library service missions and goals. The incumbent will be responsible for implementing, coordinating, and overseeing public library extended service programs including interlibrary loan services, the public library literacy program, the Florida Public Library Online High School program, and assist with managing the State of Florida Citizen e-government Service. Duties and responsibilities include managing departmental staff, managing an assigned departmental operating budget, implementing, and applying library policy and procedure, planning, implementing, and performing a variety of professional and technical assignments. Participate in preparation and oversight of library grant application process, prepare evaluative reports, recommend policy and procedures, and participate as a team member on designated library projects. Experience in public relations.

 

A bachelor’s degree in a general studies field and 3 years of responsible public library experience is required. Successful course work in Information/Library Science and, experience in responsible public service library positions can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required education. Must have a valid driver’s license. Minimum starting salary is $16.00 per hour based on qualifications and experience plus a generous benefits package.
