Suwannee County Board of Commissioners is seeking applicants for the following
ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR
This full-time position with the County Building Department is technical work enforcing electrical codes and regulations. Duties involve inspecting electrical installations for regulated County and State adopted codes. An employee in this classification is responsible for protecting the public against hazards caused by defective materials and workmanship in electrical installations. Duties require skilled technical examinations and the application of standard trade practices to electrical inspections. The incumbent must be qualified to obtain a provisional license with the construction industry licensing board within four (4) months of hire and must secure a valid certificate as an Electrical Inspector within 2 years of employment and maintain the required continuing education as required by the State of Florida.
Minimum education equivalent to high school or vocational school graduate and 5 years of experience in the field of construction or a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience that meets eligibility requirements according to one of the criteria of FS 468 to take the examination for certification as an Electrical Code Inspector. Upon hire, must possess, and maintain, a valid State of Florida Driver’s License. Must secure a valid certificate as an Electrical Inspector within 2 years of employment and maintain the required continuing education as required by the State of Florida. The salary range is $18.00 to $24.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience, plus a generous benefits package.
