Library Extended Services Manager

Suwannee River Regional Library is currently seeking applicants for the position of Extended Services Manager for the Suwannee River Regional Library System, in Live Oak FL. This is a regular 40-hour full-time position. This administrative position reports directly to the Library Director and is a member of the library management team. Duties and responsibilities include knowledge of computer library system applications, materials selection, acquisition and maintenance, and experience in personnel management and supervision is required. The applicant must have proven experience with commercial computer software applications, record-keeping and reports, and extensive knowledge of the internet. The position requires analytical skills, judgment in researching problems to determine appropriate solutions, and a thorough knowledge and understanding of public library service missions and goals. The selected applicant will be responsible for implementing, coordinating, and overseeing public library extended service programs including interlibrary loan services, the public library’s literacy program, the Public Library Online High School program when applicable, and manage the State of Florida Citizen e-government Service. Furthermore, the selected applicant will manage departmental staff, manage an assigned departmental operating budget, implementing and applying library policy and procedure, planning, implementing, and performing a variety of professional and technical assignments. The position also requires participating in preparation and oversight of library grant application process, prepare evaluative reports, recommend policy and procedures, and participate as a team member on designated library projects. Applicants must have experience in public relations.

A bachelor’s degree in a general studies field and 3 years of responsible public library experience is required. Successful course work in Information/Library Science and experience in responsible public service library positions can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required education. Must have a valid driver’s license. Salary per hour is based on qualifications and experience and includes a generous benefits package.
