Suwannee County Board of Commissioners is seeking applicants for the following
CONSERVATION TECHNICIAN

This fulltime position with the Suwannee County Conservation District (SCCD) office, an agricultural partner between local farmers, ranchers, and producers as well as local and state agencies. The fulltime position works with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) to assist landowners with the implementation of Agricultural Best Management Practices (BMP) on the landscape.

Applicant must have a minimum of a High School diploma and four (4) years practical work experience in production agriculture or two (2) years practical work experience in production agriculture and an Associate of Science or Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture and must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License.  Candidate must possess good verbal and written communications skills, have a general knowledge of computer skills, be knowledgeable of BMP and agricultural water quality issues, be willing to work after normal working hours or on weekends to accommodate farmers’ schedules, and be willing to attend additional training on programs and information required for the position.  Rate of pay is $12.50 – $21.61, based on experience and qualifications, plus a generous benefits package.
